Summary: your Notion content never leaves your browser. Our server learns whether your installation has a Pro licence and how many exports it runs per month, identified by a random ID. The ID is a pseudonym; for Pro customers it can be linked to the buyer through the licence key. The server record of an installation is deleted 13 months after it last contacted our server; a Pro record is kept while the subscription is active. The website and the extension count page views, clicks and exports as anonymous statistics, and the website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate page views. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no ads.

1. Controller

Alexander Kagoshima, contact [email protected]. The postal address is in the Impressum.

2. Your page content stays in your browser

The extension reads the Notion page you are viewing, builds the print document locally and hands it to your browser's own print function. Page content, database values, images and the finished PDF are never sent to us or anyone else. There is no account to create.

3. What reaches our server

On first use the extension asks our licence endpoint for a random identifier and stores it on your device. With it we store when the identifier was created, the browser family (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, other), the extension version, the month the extension last checked the licence, and whether the installation has an active Pro licence. Separately, under the same identifier, we store the number of exports the installation ran in the month of its most recent export, together with that month. When an export runs, the extension sends the identifier so this number can be increased; it limits nothing. The identifier is a pseudonym: it contains no name, email address, Notion account or workspace.

For Pro customers, the identifier can be linked to a person. A payment has to be assigned to the installation it pays for, so we store the licence key next to the identifier, and Polar, which knows the buyer's email address and billing details, receives the identifier as the label of the licence activation.

Every request from the extension to our licence endpoint carries your IP address and your browser's User-Agent header, as any web request does. The endpoint derives the browser family from the User-Agent. It stores neither the IP address nor the User-Agent.

If you activate a licence, the key you enter and your identifier are forwarded to our payment provider Polar. Polar verifies the key. We store the key, the activation reference and the month of the last re-check, so the licence can be re-checked monthly and released again if you move to another machine.

To understand which features are used, the extension also counts coarse product events: that an export ran (which of the three export modes, how many documents, free or Pro), that an upgrade notice was shown or clicked (which Pro feature it was about), that the note asking for a review was shown, clicked or dismissed (with the export mode and how many exports the installation has run), that the licence window of the extension was opened (from the toolbar or from an upgrade notice, free or Pro), and that an identifier was created or a licence was checked, activated or removed. These counts include your browser family and the extension version, but no page content, no titles and no information about who you are. They are stored as aggregate statistics only and are not linked to your identifier. Raw event counts are kept for about 90 days; only aggregate totals are kept longer.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for providing and licensing the Service, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in knowing which versions and features are in use.

4. Website statistics

When a page of this website is viewed, a button is clicked (for example a checkout or install button) or a question in a FAQ is opened, the website sends a small technical signal to our own server. It contains the page path and any campaign tags (utm parameters) in the link you followed, the host name of the site that linked to you here (from the referrer, for example www.google.com), which plan or store a clicked checkout or install button is for, the text of an opened FAQ question, and your browser family (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, other), which our server derives from the User-Agent header and stores; the User-Agent itself is not stored. It contains no cookies, no fingerprint and no identifier of any kind, and nothing is stored on or read from your device. We keep it only as aggregate counts, for example how many visitors a forum post brought us.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in understanding which pages and links are used. Because no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required.

In addition, this website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views, referrers and page performance. Cloudflare injects its script (static.cloudflareinsights.com) when serving the page. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, does not track you across other websites and builds no profile; Cloudflare does not retain your IP address for analytics. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate website usage. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required. Details: cloudflare.com/web-analytics.

When you uninstall the extension, your browser opens a page on this website that asks why. Clicking a reason sends it to our server; a comment is optional and sent only when you press Send. The page address carries three details from the extension: its version, how long it was installed (0, 1, 7, 30 or 90 days or more) and whether it had a Pro licence. The reason is counted with these details and your browser family as an aggregate statistic, like the events in section 3. A comment is stored with the date, the reason and these details, and deleted after 365 days. Neither carries the identifier, and your IP address is used only to limit how often the page can send and is not stored. Please do not put personal data in a comment. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in learning why the extension is uninstalled.

5. What we never collect

6. Settings and logo images

Your export settings, including header and footer text, are stored in your browser's synced extension storage (chrome.storage.sync). If sync is turned on in your browser, the browser syncs them through your browser account (for Chrome, your Google account) to your other devices, under your browser provider's terms. We do not receive them.

A logo you add for headers or footers is stored only in your browser's extension storage on your device and is not synced. It is only placed into print documents you create.

7. Service providers

Cloudflare, Polar and Google are based in the United States. Transfers of personal data to them rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of 10 July 2023) where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses.

This website uses no cookies, no tracking scripts other than Cloudflare Web Analytics (section 4), and no externally hosted fonts.

8. Permissions the extension asks for

9. Retention and deletion

Uninstalling the extension removes the identifier, your settings and your logo from your device.

Free installations: the server record (identifier, export counts, browser family, extension version and timestamps) is deleted automatically 13 months after the extension last contacted our server.

Pro installations: the record, including the licence key, is kept while the subscription is active. After the subscription ends, the record is deleted 13 months after the extension last contacted our server.

Purchase and invoice records are kept by Polar as Merchant of Record, under its own legal retention duties. Our server keeps no invoices.

Raw product event counts are kept for about 90 days; only aggregate totals are kept longer (section 3).

Uninstall comments are deleted 365 days after they were sent (section 4).

You can ask us at any time to delete your server record earlier.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To use them, write to the contact address in section 1. Section 9 says how long the extension's data is kept. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
